On July 15, 2010 my group and I visited the Paley Library on Temple's campus. While we were there we received a tour of the Urban Archives center. As we walked around i noticed some maps and news paper clippings that talked about my neighborhood. I learned a lot about Philadelphia in the 20th century. A lot of people use the Urban Archives as a good source for research. While we were there we broke up into groups and answered questions using old newspaper clippings, maps, photos, and pamphlets. I enjoyed this activity. While i was looking at the maps I compared them to how my neighborhood looks now and there were only a few differences. One difference that I saw was that it didn't show the old Veterans Stadium which today is called the Citizens Bank Park. Another difference that i saw was that near Delaware Ave there were nothing bout Ships and docks and also fish markets which today there are no fish markets and the docks are closed down. I would love to go back to the Urban Archives one day and use all that information as a good source for research.
